2008 U11 Boca Jamboree

boca 97 girlsSACRAMENTO, CA --  In the spirit of soccer goodwill and building strong intra-team relations, the Boca Jrs 97 girls hosted the Oregon Westside Metros and 3 other teams to our first ever U11 Boca Jamboree.  The jamboree occurred on the weekend of August 22-24 with the following, no cost to participate, events.

Friday night Ice Cream Social play day and subsequent pizza party at Mountain Mikes.
3 competitive games and a swim party held on Saturday.
2 additional competitive games and farewell on Sunday.

Teams participating in the competitive tournament quality games were the U11 girls teams of Boca Jrs 97, Oregon Westide Metros, East Diablo Konfusion, San Juan Spirit and Sac United Extreme.

The U11 Boca Jamboree is the second step this year in a budding partnership between the Boca Girls and the Westside Metros. The first step being the friendly fustal game and pot luck at the Beaverton Cup tournament this past summer.  Our '97 Boca girls team was happy to host the event by donating Larchmont field time, licensed referees, a College Greens Swim Club party and pot luck style BBQ.

Who can forget the fun shared at the swim party as players got to know each other through swimming, dancing and a rousing game of beach volleyball. The losing volleyball team forced to jump off the high dive (parents and coaches included). Did some parents forget their swim suit? It was no obstacle in getting them off the high dive that night as adults were then seen frolicking in the pool fully clothed.

A great event made possible by all the families of the Boca Jrs 97 girls.

Go Boca!
